Add/edit images:

Above shows what icons to select and what they do regarding adding and editing images.

Note: You can also select image properties by double clicking on an image.

Upload your images :

To upload your images select 'Upload Images' and you will get the pop up box above. Click' Browse' button to find pictures on your computer and then click 'Upload Images'. Your images will uploaded to the server ready to be added to your pages.

Upload an image to your page:

To add an image to your page, click on the page where you want it to go in either your short or full news page and then select 'Insert Uploaded Image' The box above will pop up. You can double check the image by clicking on the 'File Name' You then select where you want your image to go 'Short News' or 'Full News'.

Image Properties:

The image properties boxes lets you resize images, name them, place them and link them. To open the image properties box right click the image.

Image Info:

The Image Info box lets you add alternative text. A key worded search phrase will make your image searchable on a search engine and enhance the keywords already in the text of your page. You can adjust the width and height of your image. Locking the ratio lets you scale the image without it distorting. Border lets you put a border around the image. HSpace and VSpace let you select a space around your image Horizontally and vertically. Align lets you place your image right, left or center.

Link:

Selecting 'Link' lets you add a hyperlink to an image.

Advanced:

The advanced tab is rarely used. However the advisory title is useful if you want wording to pop up when moving the curser over an image.

Reduce Image byte size

One of the most frustrating things any visitor has to put up with are slow loading pictures. Millions of UK residents still have less than 1Meg broadband connection so when you add a picture to your article its worth thinking about reducing your images byte sizes so they load fast on slow connections and instantly on fast connections. If you have access to a picture editing program you can most likely perform this there. If you don't you can use this free on-line picture optimizer.

I will inform you of the width of your news page on completion so you know the maximum width to crop an image.

Get the most from your images

Image editing software allows you to manipulate and enhance images and with a little imagination you can create impressive results. Professional image editing software is expensive.The good news is that there is a FREE and rather good image editor to download. Gimp. Click here to view and download. Adding movies

The easiest way to add a movie to your page is via Youtube or Vimeo. Simply register with either of them and follow the instructions how to upload your video. Once your video is uploaded click the embed button on the movie, copy code and then paste that code in the source code of your news page.
